Colour: deep ruby red verging to lighter and mellower notes with ageing 
Aromas: the bouquet ranges from tobacco and pipe to liquorice and spicy notes
Taste: dry, sapid, warm, well structured, with soft long elegant finish

GRAPE
100 % Sangiovese grosso

VINIFICATION 
De-stemming/crushing, 18-21 day maceration according to the vintage, with recurrent and regular pumping over into the lap, délestage is also used. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation the refining takes place in French oak barriques. 10-12 months later the wine is bottled and ages for further 12 months
